Traditional Ngaben ceremony in Sidatapa Village, also known as Ngaben Adat Nangun, demonstrates a unique dynamic of preservation within its community. This ritual not only features distinctive procedures but is also rich with philosophical and ideological meanings passed down through generations. Despite facing challenges from changing times and external influences, the people of Sidatapa Village remain committed to maintaining the continuity of the traditional Ngaben ceremony as an essential part of their cultural identity. This study aims to examine the dynamics of preserving the Ngaben Adat ceremony, focusing on the reasons behind its preservation, the implementation process, and the resulting social and cultural implications. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document studies, followed by in-depth analysis. The findings reveal that the preservation of the Ngaben Adat ceremony is driven by several key factors: the commitment to maintaining the traditional house as a symbol of identity, the preservation of sacred offerings such as banten bali taksu and banten bangun urip as spiritual heritage, the unity of all wangsa (clans) within the community, the presence of holy persons who lead the ceremony, and adherence to ancestral sanctions and Ida Panembahan. In terms of implications, the traditional Ngaben ceremony provides psychological comfort to the bereaved families, instills moral and educational values in daily life, and strengthens the ideology of kinship and social solidarity among the villagers. Thus, the dynamic preservation of the Ngaben Adat ceremony in Sidatapa Village affirms that this tradition is not merely a religious ritual but also a source of values, identity, and social strength that continues to be maintained and passed down from generation to generation.
