Model Discovery Learning dan Inquiry Learning dalam Pembelajaran IPA di Sekolah Dasar

Science education plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of the world around them. In the context of 21st-century learning, the challenge educators face is creating learning experiences that actively engage students in the discovery of knowledge. Two approaches that are becoming increasingly relevant in this context are Discovery Learning and Inquiry Learning. Both focus on developing critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. This research method uses a literature study, which involves collecting data from various sources such as books, journals, and related documents. The data analysis process is conducted with a descriptive approach to provide a deeper understanding of the application of these two learning models. The research steps include collecting relevant data and analyzing it to identify key issues. The results show that Discovery Learning is effective in encouraging students to actively participate through direct exploration, while Inquiry Learning focuses on scientific investigation by encouraging students to ask questions and formulate hypotheses. Both models enhance students' motivation and engagement in learning. However, the implementation of these models is not without challenges, such as time constraints and limited resources. In conclusion, the application of Discovery Learning and Inquiry Learning in science education is crucial in preparing students to face future challenges. Support from educational institutions, including teacher training and the provision of adequate resources, is necessary to optimize the implementation of these models so that students are better prepared to face the complexities of the ever-changing world.
