Integrasi Yoga Sebagai Strategi Holistik Dalam Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter

Character education serves as the fundamental pillar in shaping a generation that excels not only intellectually but also emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Amid the challenges of globalization and rapid technological advancement, which contribute to moral degradation and behavioral issues among youth, a holistic educational approach becomes increasingly essential. This article explores the role and contribution of yoga as an alternative strategy to strengthen character education within the school environment. The research method employed is literature review, analyzing various academic studies and relevant articles from Indonesian sources. The findings indicate that yoga through a combination of physical postures (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana) cultivates core character values such as discipline, self- control, empathy, and inner peace. Additionally, yoga encourages students to be more reflective and conscious of their actions and responsibilities. Therefore, yoga can be contextually integratedinto the national education system as a transformative approach that supports holistic and sustainable character development. This study recommends the implementation of educational yoga programs within school curricula as part of efforts to revitalize character education in Indonesia.
