REMPAH-REMPAH SEBAGAI POTENSI WELLNESS TOURISM DI INDONESIA
Abstract
Wellness tourism has become a new tourist trend in recent years for tourists. Wellness
tourism is a transformative journey as an opportunity to nurture and enhance holistic health in
travelers who place wellness as a healthy lifestyle. Wellness tourism is also understood as a
planned journey to provide intake to the body, mind and soul to a balanced condition. In
connection with the phenomenon, Indonesia through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative
Economy is developing wellness tourism in Indonesia by making the natural and cultural wealth
of Indonesia. One of the wealth of Indonesia that has potential in wellness tourism in Indonesia
is spices. Therefore, this study examines the potential of spices in wellness tourism in Indonesia.
Research is descriptive-qualitative research. The method of analysis used is a library study and
analysis and is presented by means of interpretative and descriptive analysis. The results of this
study show that spices have become one of the most important commodities in Indonesia since
before the masses to this day. These reservoirs have great potential in the development of wellness
tourism in Indonesia. Many wellness centres in Indonesia offer holistic health programs that
include yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and the use of spices as part of health and wellness
care. As a wellness tourism attraction, the spices is used as a spice treatment ingredient, spice
bath, as well as a therapeutic aroma.
