TEOLOGI HINDU DALAM SATUA I CUPAK KE BRAHMALOKA

Abstract

Balinese fairy tales have now faded from society. One of them is the Fairy Tale of I Cupak to Brahmaloka. The fairy tale had a concept that needed to be followed. The main character, I Cupak, reflected evil in his life, both physically and behaviorally, but in his life journey, he could reach Brahmaloka. This study used literary research methods, namely the hermeneutic method and the formal method. The data collection method used was the document recording method. The data analysis method was a descriptive method with induction and argumentation techniques. The results of the study obtained were a synopsis that told the story of I Gede Cupak's wanderings in the Gerobag Besi Kingdom, performing penance on Mount Mahameru, and finally receiving purification from the God Brahma, so that he became a noble and handsome human figure. Hindu theology that could be revealed in the Tale of I Cupak to Brahmaloka was implementing the belief in monotheism, especially non-absolute monotheism, as well as the aspect of worshiping Brahman or Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in the form of Immanent (Saguna Brahman).
