Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Fruit Split media in improving elementary school students’ mathematics learning outcomes on fraction topics. This research employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design. Learning outcome data were collected through tests administered before and after the implementation of learning activities using the Fruit Split media. The results indicate an improvement in students’ mathematics learning outcomes after the use of the Fruit Split media. The average posttest score was higher than the average pretest score, indicating an increased understanding of fraction concepts. Hypothesis testing revealed a significant difference between students’ learning outcomes before and after the intervention, with a large effect size. These findings demonstrate that the Fruit Split media is effective in supporting students’ understanding of fractions through concrete and meaningful learning experiences aligned with the cognitive development characteristics of elementary school students.
