Abstract

Pancasila was formulated as the foundational philosophy of an independent Indonesia, originating from the values and worldview of Indonesian society. As the foundation of the state and the guiding principle of the Indonesian nation, Pancasila represents an essential cultural heritage. Therefore, Pancasila is passed down to future generations. A great nation is one that cares for the cultural heritage of its ancestors. Understanding the cultural foundation of Pancasila education can be observed through the origins of its elements. The values embedded in Pancasila include Divinity, Humanity, Unity, Democracy, and Social Justice. These values are ingrained in individuals, shaping their knowledge, thoughts, speech, and actions, all of which should reflect virtuous principles.The character values that should be instilled in students at the elementary school level include religiosity, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, independence, creativity, democracy, curiosity, nationalism, patriotism, appreciation of achievements, friendliness, communication skills, love for peace, reading enthusiasm, environmental awareness, social awareness, and responsibility.
