KAJIAN FILOSOFIS TRADISI MAGELANG-GELANG PADA RAHINA PURNAMA DI DESA ADAT ALASANGKER KECAMATAN BULELENG KABUPATEN BULELENG

Abstract

The magelang-gelang tradition is a tradition passed down from ancient ancestors from
generation to generation and is carried out on the rahina full moon at the Bale Agung Village
Temple. This tradition is carried out for 2 (two) days, apart from that, most people still do not
know and understand the process of implementing this tradition and the philosophical meaning
contained in this magelang-gelang tradition. Based on the background described above, this
research focuses on the basis for implementing the tradition, the form of implementing the
tradition and the philosophical meaning of the Magelang-gelang tradition. Religious Theory,
Structural Functional Theory and Symbolic Interaction Theory to analyze existing problem
formulations. The methods used to collect data in this research include: observation method,
interview method, library method, and documentation method. The descriptive analysis method
is used to analyze the data that has been collected, using several steps of data collection, data
reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. Data analysis on research results can be
seen in terms of its historical basis, religious basis and social basis. The form of
implementation of the Magelang-gelang tradition uses banten and keris. The philosophical
meanings contained are the meaning of harmony, the meaning of ethics, the meaning of
education, and the meaning of cultural preservation
