KONDISI DILEMATIS BUDAYA MASYARAKAT AGRARIS DI SUBAK KERDUNG DESA ADAT PEDUNGAN KECAMATAN DENPASAR SELATAN

This study discusses the dilemma faced by the agrarian community in Subak Kerdung, Pedungan Traditional Village, South Denpasar District, which is experiencing pressure from the current of modernization. The community that previously lived from farming now faces a difficult choice between maintaining agricultural land or switching to other jobs that are more economically promising. Using qualitative descriptive methods, this study explores the factors that cause this dilemma and its impact on the social, economic, and cultural aspects of the community. The results of the study indicate that modernization and economic needs drive a shift from an agrarian culture to an industrial culture, which has an impact on weakening the social and spiritual ties of the agrarian community.
