Abstract

The Penyanggling Melik ceremony is a ritual in the Hindu tradition in Bali which aims to neutralize the negative energy attached to individuals with melik, namely spiritual advantages that are given from birth. Melik in Balinese society is often associated with supernatural abilities or special signs that can have a positive or negative impact on the owner. Therefore, special ceremonies are needed to maintain an individual's spiritual balance so they can live a more harmonious life. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature study approach, observation, and interviews with ceremony practitioners. The Penyanggling Melik ceremony which is carried out at Pasraman Pasir Ukir, Pedawa Village, Buleleng Regency, uses various ritual facilities such as offerings, rerajahan, holy water, as well as special prayers led by spiritual figures. This ceremony is based on the Tri Hita Karana concept, especially the Parahyangan aspect, which emphasizes the harmonious relationship between humans and Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. The research results show that the Penyanggling Melik Ceremony plays an important role in the lives of Balinese people, especially for individuals who have a melik. This ritual is believed to be able to cleanse negative auras, increase positive energy, and help individuals live a better life. Apart from being a form of yadnya in Hindu teachings, this ceremony also reflects efforts to maintain balance between a person's physical, mental and spiritual aspects.
