Penerapan Metode Socratic Questioning Untuk Mengupas Mitos-Mitos Terkait Materi Catur Warna Pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Hindu Dan Budi Pekerti Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura

Abstract

Religious Education and Character Education subject for Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura. These limitations not only risk uneven learning outcomes but may also lead to a reductionist understanding of Hindu teachings at a broader level. This study aims to provide an in-depth description and analysis of the implementation of the Socratic Questioning method in unpacking myths associated with the Catur Warna concept. The Socratic Questioning method functions as a dialogical approach that presents carefully planned and systematic stages of learning. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, as it does not involve statistical data processing. The research subjects consist of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education teachers as well as Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura. The findings indicate that the Socratic Questioning method is able to stimulate students to express their initial understanding through introductory questions, followed by probing questions aimed at encouraging reflection. The filtering stage is conducted to correct misconceptions, while the deepening stage serves to strengthen students’ critical and analytical thinking skills. The repetition stage is implemented to evaluate whether further in-depth exploration is necessary. The challenges in implementing the Socratic Questioning method include teachers’ ability to design questions based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), the need for intensive guidance from school leadership, effective time management, classroom mediation skills, and the cultivation of a culture of critical and analytical thinking through continuous practice.
