Religious diversity in Indonesia necessitates an ethical foundation capable of bridging differences and strengthening social cohesion. This study examines the role of the Hindu ethical principle Tat Twam Asi, which emphasizes the unity between self and others, in fostering interreligious harmony, with a particular focus on social practices in Batu Nindan, a designated Harmony-Conscious Village. Recognizing Tat Twam Asi not only as a metaphysical doctrine but also as a universal ethical framework promoting empathy and respect for diversity, this research aims to explore how its values are integrated with local wisdom within a multireligious community context. A descriptive–interpretative qualitative approach was employed through an extensive review of Hindu philosophical literature, empirical studies on interfaith tolerance, and analysis of observational documents related to social interactions in Batu Nindan. Data were examined through thematic categorization and philosophical interpretation, while validity was reinforced using theoretical and source triangulation. The findings reveal that Tat Twam Asi functions as a multireligious ethic that encourages active tolerance, solidarity, and cross-faith collaboration. These values are evident in social activities such as communal work (gotong royong), shared participation in customary rituals, interreligious dialogue, and mutual support for religious events. In Batu Nindan, the integration of Hindu ethics with local wisdom—represented through Menyama Braya, communal cooperation norms, and inclusive cultural practices—cultivates a harmonious and socially cohesive environment. Therefore, this study confirms that the synthesis of religious ethical values and local cultural traditions constitutes an effective foundation for nurturing multireligious harmony in Indonesia. Tat Twam Asi thus remains not only a spiritual construct but also a practical ethical framework for sustaining social harmony within pluralistic society.
