Abstract

The emergence of the Industrial Revolution 5.0 has resulted in a different pattern of existence and behavior among people's lives in the difference in the pattern of life and behavior that traditional members of society used to do in general. To mitigate the adverse effects of the industrial revolution, it is imperative to implement character education that focuses on five key aspects to enhance character development. Hindu character education comes from analyzing the Vedic scriptures, which include the Smerti Veda, Manawadharmasastra, Slokantara, and Nitisastra. This study aims to analyze the principles of Hindu character education presented in the book, with the aim of improving understanding and facilitating its application in daily life. This research uses descriptive analysis, using the Smerti Veda, Manawadharmasastra, Slokantara, and Nitisastra as the main data sources. The analysis was conducted using hermeneutic theory to determine the importance of character education in these sources. In the priorities of character education analyzed in the Veda Smerti, Manawadharmasastra, Slokantara, and Nitisastra analyzed five main priorities of character education, namely religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation, and integrity.
