Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of Tri Hita Karana values that include Parahyangan (harmonious relationship with God), Pawongan (harmonious relationship between humans), and Palemahan (harmonious relationship with nature) in Balinese script learning through an ethnopedagogical perspective. Tri Hita Karana, as a basic philosophy in Balinese culture, offers a comprehensive framework for shaping students' character and understanding of balance in life. This research method involves literature studies, interviews with educators, and direct observation in several schools in Bali to analyze how these values are applied in the Balinese script curriculum. The results of the study revealed that although there have been significant efforts to integrate cultural values in Balinese script teaching, various challenges such as lack of relevant teaching materials, limited training for teachers, and differences in perceptions about the relevance of these values hinder the effectiveness of integration. This study recommends the development of more in-depth teaching materials and special training for teachers, as well as a more integrated approach to connecting Tri Hita Karana values with Balinese script learning. With the right strategy, this integration is expected to enrich students' learning experiences and preserve Balinese cultural values in the context of modern education.
