KONSTRUKSI SOSIAL DAN SPIRITUAL DALAM REGENERASI PENARI TOPENG SIDHAKARYA

This research examines the dynamics of Topeng Sidhakarya dancer regeneration in the context of social and spiritual construction in Bali. Topeng Sidhakarya, as a sacred dance that is an integral part of Balinese Hindu religious ceremonies, faces serious challenges in the regeneration process of its dancers. Through a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, this study reveals the complexity of the process of passing on sacred knowledge, values and skills from the senior generation to the next generation. The main findings show that regeneration challenges include: diminishing interest of the younger generation, stringent spiritual requirements, and socio-cultural changes in the community. To overcome these, various strategies have been developed such as the adaptation of traditional learning methods, the strengthening of spiritual aspects through special rituals, and the establishment of support communities. This research contributes to an in-depth understanding of the urgency of maintaining the continuity of sacred cultural heritage in the midst of modernization, as well as offering new perspectives on ritual performing arts preservation efforts.
