Abstract

This article examines the concept of Punarbhawa Tattwa in Hindu teachings, which refers to the belief in rebirth as a result of the law of karma, desire (trishna), habitual tendencies (vasana), and ignorance (avidya). The study focuses on the interpretation of this doctrine in the context of the moral crisis faced by today’s youth and its relevance to the principle of Catur Karana as the metaphysical cause of reincarnation. This research applies a qualitative-descriptive method using a literature review and case study approach. Data collection is conducted through the exploration of sacred texts such as the Sarasamuccaya, Bhagavad Gita, and various academic journals. The case study centers on contemporary moral deviations among youth, including violence and promiscuous behavior, which are analyzed through the lens of Hindu philosophy. The results show that a deeper understanding of Punarbhawa and Catur Karana can serve as a foundation for character and spiritual education, encouraging the younger generation to uphold dharma and avoid destructive behaviors. The integration of Hindu values into both formal and non-formal education is deemed essential to foster awareness of karmic consequences and moral responsibility within the cycle of life. This study recommends a contextual actualization of Hindu teachings as a preventive solution to the growing problem of moral degradation.
