This qualitative research aims to identify and analyze innovations in the forms and characteristics of masks used by millennial mask artists in Gianyar Regency. Balinese Mask Dance and Drama is a traditional Balinese performance that utilizes masks and narrates epic tales. The increasing involvement of the millennial generation in Balinese Mask Dance and Drama has led to various innovations in the elements of this art form. Data was collected using online questionnaires and methods such as observation, interviews, literature review, and document studies. Analysis was conducted using existentialist aesthetic theory. The results indicate that millennial mask artists' innovations in forms and characters include the development of mask facial designs and character interpretations based on personal paradigms and relevant sources. The creation of new mask forms from these interpretations, such as the Gajah Mada mask with slanted eyes, Werdha Wakya mask, Malen Penasar mask, and the eerie Siddhakarya mask, reflects efforts to maintain relevance in traditional arts amidst contemporary developments. Innovations are pursued while adhering to the forms and characteristics of conventional masks, which represent characters within the plays and embody societal roles in Balinese culture
