This research explores the ethical teachings in the Upanishads as a potential foundation for modern educational philosophy. The Upanishads, as a part of Hindu sacred and philosophical literature, offer in-depth guidance regarding the moral and spiritual values essential for the development of individual character. This research aims to analyze key values in the Upanishads, such as the concepts of Atman (self-knowledge), Brahman (unity of reality), self-control, the teacher as a moral guide, and dharma (moral responsibility), as well as how these values can be adapted in modern education to form people who are intellectually intelligent, have strong character, and have high social awareness. Through a qualitative approach with text analysis, this research found that the Upanishadic teachings are very relevant in responding to the challenges of globalization and modernization which often make education focused on competition academics and intelligence purely cognitive. The Upanishads emphasize the importance of holistic education that includes both spiritual and ethical aspects, thereby guiding the individual to achieve a balance between material success and inner wisdom. The findings of this research recommend the integration of Upanishadic ethical values in the education system to produce a generation that is not only intelligent, but also wise and plays an active role in advancing social welfare.
