Abstract

A tour guide is an important aspect of a tourist trip. As individuals who know more about the area,

tour guides have an important role as providing information about tourist attractions as well as

educating and guiding local and foreign tourists who travel to Indonesia or tourist destinations. Several

factors are the reasons, one of which is having a different cultural background. The tour guide's delivery

in educating and guiding tourists certainly uses interpretation and is based on the education system,

namely Tri Nga which means Ngrasa, Understand and Nglakoni. The aim of this research is to

determine the role of tour guides in educating tourists and how to deliver tour guides using local

wisdom and not eliminating the element of education. This research method uses qualitative with a case

study approach. The resource persons in this research were two tour guides specifically for Indonesian

and German tourists who had experience as tour guides for more than ten years. In the case study, it

was found that the two tour guides or tour guides had implemented the education system taught by Ki

Hajar Dewantara. The Tri Nga concept allows tour guides to guide and provide information to tourists

to respect local communities, and not panic and not offend tourists' feelings during the trip, because

tour guides must be able to give a good and informative impression regarding tourist attractions.
