Abstract

Baris Jojor Dance is one of the sacred arts that developed in Cempaga Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency. This dance is not only understood as a performing art, but also as a medium of religious expression, a symbol of cultural identity, and a means of preserving the traditional values ​​of the Bali Aga community. Based on this background, the problems can be formulated as follows: (1) What is the basis of Baris Jojor Dance in Cempaga Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency? (2) What is the function of Baris Jojor Dance in Cempaga Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency? (3) What is the philosophical meaning of Baris Jojor Dance in Cempaga Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency? The method used in this study is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation techniques, interview techniques, document study techniques, and literature study techniques. The theoretical basis used in this study is: (1) Religious Theory, (2) Structural Functional Theory, and (3) Meaning Theory. The results obtained through this research include: (1) Stages of implementation of the Baris Jojor dance and the means used. The basis for performing the Baris Jojor dance is a mythological basis, a philosophical basis and a religious basis. (2) The functions of the Baris Jojor dance are: religious function, social function, and cultural preservation function. (3) The philosophical meaning contained in the Baris Jojor dance is: aesthetic meaning, spiritual meaning, and ethical meaning.
