Abstract

An average elementary student is a child aged about 7 or 8 years is the forerunner who determines the progress of a region. Learning in schools requires new methods that will make the child not feel bored with the material taught so that it can be understood well. Therefore, with the use of tri sandya method is expected to foster a sense of love towards God, fellow human beings and the environment around it. Research on the role of recitation teacher in character formation of children which aims to describe and analyze about: the implementation of learning Hindu religion in SDN 1 Pejaten. The research used qualitative method by using observation technique, interview and documentation to collect data related to research result. The data obtained were analyzed by using interactive model (interactive model). From the research, the following results are obtained: the implementation of Tri Sandya's customization every morning to improve sradha and devotion of Hindu students and learning outside the classroom that makes the children become the spirit, because learning is not done in the classroom as usual. So it seems very clear the spirit of students in following all activities in school. With the role of the recitation teacher can shape and improve the character of Hindu students to be better because the word sadhu gunawan itself has a meaning that is children who have good ethics and ethics.
