Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discuss the role of art education management in shaping students' character through Karungut sound art, a traditional art typical of Dayak Kalimantan. Art education has an important contribution in building character values, such as discipline, responsibility, creativity, and appreciation for local culture. Effective management of arts education includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating arts activities in schools. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation studies and documentation studies. The Karungut Sound Art structured management approach is able to integrate art learning with deep cultural and moral values. This research shows that karungut art can be used as an interactive and inspirational learning medium, which not only trains students' artistic abilities but also instills positive character values.
