In this article we discuss the importance of training and development for employees and companies. It states several things regarding the meaning of training and development, location, benefits, and factors that influence the success of training and development. Training and development is an effort to improve and adjust the attitudes and behavior, knowledge and skills of employees so that they are able to carry out their duties well in accordance with established standards. Training is usually carried out within the company, but can also be carried out outside the company. Determining a training location must be considered carefully to get the maximum benefits. The benefits of training and development for employees are increased employee knowledge, skills, work motivation, loyalty and self-confidence. The benefits of employee training and development for companies are to achieve progress which is characterized by productivity and a good image of the company in the eyes of society. There are several factors that determine the success of training and development, namely training participants, instructor, material, place and time of implementation. Therefore, all these factors must be considered and prepared well.
